Organised by Armel Opera Festival, the Pannon Philharmonic is going to perform in several prominent concert halls in Switzerland during the holidays.
The Pannon Philharmonic is performing in several concert halls, such as the Tonhalle in Zurich, Victoria Hall in Geneva, Kultur Casino in Bern and Stadtcasino Musiksaal in Basel between 26 December and 30 December in 2015. The orchestra is going to give altogether 6 concerts during the tour in Switzerland.
Conducted by chief conductor Tibor Bogányi, the ensemble is performing in the Tonhalle, Zurich on 26 December and in the Kultur Casino in Bern on 28 December.
At the majority of the concerts the orchestra is going to play Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 and Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana except for the concert on 26 December featuring the young pianist, Misi Boros, who is going to be the orchestra’s soloist. At this particular concert the orchestra is playing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23 in A Major, the Overture from The Bat by Strauss and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5.
The orchestra’s partners on the Swiss tour are: Katarzyna Jagiełło soprano, Kinga Dobay mezzo soprano, Jan Jakub Monowid tenor, Jonathan Sell baritone, Sascha Kramer tenor and the Hungarian Festival Choir.
The Pannon Philharmonic first appeared in front of a Western European audience in December 2013, performing in concert halls of Germany and Switzerland so they are returning guests at two stations of this year’s tour; the Tonhalle in Zurich and Victoria Hall in Geneva.
