Nicolas Pasquet

 

He was born in 1958 in Montevideo (Uruguay); began his music studies in his hometown, and then made his violin playing perfect and got a degree in and conducting in Sttutgart.

From 1981, he worked as a first conductor at the orchestra of his hometown.

In 1987, he won the first prize of the conducting competition in Besançon; from 1993 to 1996, he was the artistic director and chief conductor of the Pécs Symphony Orchestra. During his cycle, he recorded all of the symphonic works of László Lajtha, published by the Marco Polo Records. As recognition of the artistic work led by him, the Pécs Symphony Orchestra won the Béla Bartók-Ditta Pásztory Prize and the Laszló Lajtha Foundation Award, in1998.
