Pannon Philharmonic

János Tamás trumpet artist, the newly elected Lifetime Member of the orchestra was greeted by director Zsolt Horváth, chief conductor Tibor Bogányi, and the trumpet sections playing - at the World Music Day gala concert. János Tamás as an orchestra musician played at the performances of the National Theatre of Pécs since the early 70s, and then he became a trumpeter of the Pécs Symphony Orchestra (later Pannon Philharmonic). From 1985, he has been the principal of the trumpet section and a steady performer of the ensemble’s concerts and musical theatre plays.

His musician career was completed with his excellent pedagogic work: for long decades, he used to teach at the Art High School of Pécs, with pre-eminent results. Many a trumpet player thanks the love for music and the instrument to him; he is the honoured teacher of trumpeters of the Pannon Philharmonic and other orchestras.
