Croatian conductor Miran Vaupotic is quickly establishing himself as a sought after young artist. Currently he is Principal Guest Conductor of the Russian Symphony Orchestra Prokofiev in Moscow, Russia and Associate Conductor of the Lugansk Philharmonic Orchestra in Lugansk, Ukraine.
He is a two-time first prize winner of All-Croatian Competition, prize winner of 1999 Pula International Competition, the LAUREATE of the 2003 Confédération Mondiale de L'Accordéon - CMA - Trophée Mondial de l'Accordéon in Italy and the Grand Prize winner of Music GOLDEN TROPHY 2007 International Competition in New York, USA as well as 1st prize winner of the International Festival InterArtia 2008 Music Competitions in Volos, Greece and Special Schnittke Award winner of 2008 IBLA Grand Prize World Competition in Sicily, Italy. The International Art Society & Academy declared him Artist of the Year 2008.
Miran Vaupotich appeared with known orchestras including Zagreb Soloists, Rijeka Philharmonic Orchestra, Croatian Chamber Orchestra, Zagreb Chamber Orchestra, Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra Kremlin, Camerata Klaipeda, Kaliningrad Chamber Philharmonic, Pomorian Philharmonic Orchestra, Egyptian Philharmonic, Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, Beijing Chamber Orchestra, Slovak Sinfonietta etc. His performances have been radio broadcasted in Croatia, Portugal, France, Canada and Romania.
In the summer of 2011, Mr. Vaupotich made his opera debut in the United States, conducting The Marriage of Figaro at the Atlantic Coast Opera Festival in Philadelphia. With the Russian Symphony Orchestra Prokofiev he recorded a CD of symphony music by wonderful Italian composer Roberto Di Marino published in 2011 by CLASSIC CONCERT RECORDS. Mr. Vaupotich actively collaborate with important American, Russian, French, Slovak, Italian and Croatian composers, whose works he has premiered, such as Piano Concerto by John Alan Rose, San José by Peter Machajdik, Symphonic Suite by Dmitry Yautukhovich and Symphony No. 2 by Primous Fountain commissioned by Quincy Jones.
Miran Vaupotich holds a master’s degree in orchestral conducting from the International Art Academy in Greece where he studied with George Larigakis among others. He also studied at the University of Juraj Dobrila and the Ino Mirkovich Music Academy under license of Moscow State Conservatory P.I. Tchaikovsky, both in Croatia.
