About the Programme

Many of us associate certain feelings with an era or period. Love with Romanticism, balance with Classicism, and pleasure with Baroque. The same applies to the Christmas and Easter concerts offered by Musica Sacra season tickets. The joyful feelings of Christmas are introduced by a magnificent motet of Bach, followed by an advent cantata of his, and finally the Christmas Oratorio by an older master, Heinrich Schütz is performed, retelling the story of the birth of the Savior through the language of music. This rarely heard piece is a special representation of the world of early baroque seeking for new ways.
