The Szeged Contemporary Ballet takes part at the Budapest Spring Festival for not the first time, not even with a symphonic orchestra. After the Wooden Prince performed together with the National Philharmonic Orchestra and also choreographed by Tamás Juronics, the ensemble steps onto the stage with the Pannon Philharmonic. Besides the Don Juan, which brought fame to its composer in 1889, and the Thus Spoke Zarathustra, inspired by Nietzsche and written in 1896 - two emblematic works of Richard Strauss, born one-hundred-fifty years ago, the opening concert of the festival will offer the immortal masterpiece of Béla Bartók, the Dance Suite, premiered in 1923 for the 50th anniversary of the union of Budapest; under the baton of János Kovács, who is an excellent conductor of not only operas.
