Taking part in Bartók Plus Opera Festival, the Pannon Philharmonic is accomplishing a unique commission. It will play Béla Bartók’s three stage works in succession, then The Wooden Pince once more. Géza M. Tóth’s director concept is to guide the audience through a man’s and a woman’s lifelong desire to find the other and in the other: themselves - via Bartók’s works. They are looking for each others from their childhoods to their deaths. Sometimes the world stands between them; sometimes they turn their backs to each other. In their souls and in reality (and on the stage), they traipse in the woods, fires get fired, doors get locked, icebergs get collapsed.

The orchestra got this eminent commission because its reliably high standard, intensity, and collaborative attitude.
