About the Programme
On the 150th anniversary of Sibelius’s birthday, the ensemble pays a tribute to the greatness of the composer by playing his Kullervo Symphony. With this concert, in the frame of the CAFe Budapest Contemporary Arts Festival, the orchestra is also greeting Arvo Pärt, who is 80 years old this year. It is true for all these works that they can be extremely rarely heard in programmes of Hungarian orchestras; and all of them are excellent examples for amalgamating of vocal and instrumental genres.
