The founder, front-man, and legendary flutist of the Jethro Tull returns to Hungary with such a production that offers a true delicacy even for the fans who saw it all.
This evening, Ian Anderson will join on the stage to the Pannon Philharmonic; in collaboration with his own band and the musicians of Pécs, he is performing the best known songs of Jethro Tull’s oeuvre with symphonic accompaniment.
"It is not our goal that we force unlikely opponents into a terrible musical engagement", says Ian.
"Pairing the orchestra and rock band sounds leads back to the beginnings of progressive rock in the late sixties. I am attracted to the fine synthesis of the classical guitar, piano, percussion, drums, bass and traditional orchestral instruments. This is a very clear concept; after staging of this, each musician and listener can leave the concert hall with intact eardrums. We are striving for an energetic rock experience without raw sound volume."
