About the Programme

Two symphonies frame a very exiting concerto. Matching the harp with jazz could seem odd, especially at first sight; but the Marosvásárhely (Targu Mures) born composer, Ede Terényi's "Jazz" harp concerto is not a unique example. One can see the variegation of a harp, which instrument had been considered earlier rather as lyrical or - like in the Celtic tradition - casted for folk music, from the fact that numerous compositions have been written for it. The open-for-everything soloist of the evening is Andrea Vígh, who is, besides her many other activities, the organizer of the Gödöllő International Harp Festival; she has worked a lot for making the harp popular in Hungary. The Swedish Maestro Ola Rudner is going to be the conductor of the concert.
