About the Programme

You can hear Mozart’s last completed instrumental work, the Clarinet Concerto and Schubert's last completed symphony, the 'Great' Symphony in C major, at one concert. Both of them are mature works, but the short lives of their composers did not allow them to see their works triumphant way on the podium. At the time of Mozart's, the clarinet was a relatively new instrument in Vienna. “The most perfect imitator of the human voice “-said the contemporary critics. Also Schubert’s symphony is characterized by intensive melodies, which is not surprising from a composer who composed more than 600 songs.
