Program:
Richard Strauss’s opera, Der Rosenkavalier earned cheering ovation at its premiere. The zest did not let up so the composer made several orchestral transcription as well. The Suit chains the core elements of the opera, spiced with the sunny atmosphere, charm and elegance of Vienna's golden age.
The Four Last Songs is R. Strauss's last completed work. The soprano solo, holding on to the orchestra with a prominent horn part soars heavenly heights – on the voice of not with the passing time but with the time heading to entireness.
The hero of R. Strauss’s symphonic poem, Don Juan is not only a gallant knight; he has also features of Faust. Although he is looking for the meaning of life in new women up to being fed-up; this state is the devil himself, who finally takes him: the hero voluntarily surrenders to him. The music offers beside the uncontrollable emotions also dreamy and brilliant illustrations for the audience.
The Till Eulenspiegel is also a symphonic poem. Tale, in which the protagonist debuts with a suggestive orchestral “visit card”: with a grimace-like motif, which returns several times in the play. The hero’s mischievous adventures come to life in the music of Strauss.
