Is there such a thing that Slavic Spirit? And if it is, is it palpable through the works of the great Slavic composers? The sophisticated programme of the Pannon Philharmonic, which contains an almost unknown Kabalevsky-overture and Tchaikovsky's popular Violin Concerto, too, is looking for an answer for this, as well. But the final answer for the question should be found by the audience; luckily, the excellent violinist, Benjamin Schmid and Tibor Bogányi are going to help in it.
Tchaikovsky dedicated his romantic violin concerto, which is perhaps the most often played one, to his friend, the Veszprém-born Lipót Auer, who used to be the premier violinist of Sankt-Petersburg, a partner of such artista s Borodin, Rimsky-Korsakow, Rubinstein, or Petipa. The violin Concerto is worth to its fame; the melancolic first movement and also the bursting, virtuoso fast movements are immersive examples of the ripe romanticism and Slavic affection.
“...I am a big fan of the chief conductor Tibor Bogány, because he guides the music there, where it has to be; he doesn’t want perfection for the sake of perfection but perfection for the sake of music...” Benjamin Schmid
