Guy Braunstein was born in Tel-Aviv, Israel, and studied the violin there and later in New-York with Glenn Dictrow and Pinchas Zuckerman. He started performing as a soloist (and a chamber musician) at a young age, has played with leading orchestras such as the Israel Philharmonic, TonHalle Orchestra-Zurich, the Bamberg Symphony, the Copenhagen Radio Orchestra, and many others. In 2000, Guy Braunstein was appointed 1st concert master of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra under Claudio Abbado and later under Sir Simon Rattle. In 2003, he became professor of music in the University of the Arts in Berlin.
