Katarzyna Jagiello

Katarzyna Jagiełło started her artistic activity in 1999, when she was still a student of the Vocal – Acting Department of the G. & K. Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź. She has always been interested in chamber music and this interest has lead to her receiving the 1st prize in the International Competition of Chamber Music in Łódź. She won also 2nd prize and special prize in the M. Schneider-Trnavsky International Vocal Competition in Trnava, Slovakia in 2006.
She took part as well in numerous master classes and interpretation courses with, among others, Teresa Zylis-Gara, Gwendolyn Bradley, Gerhard Kahry, Christian Elssner and Olaf Bär.
Katarzyna Jagiełło is often invited to perform in several philharmonies and opera hauses both in Poland and abroad (Dresdner Barockorchester, Churpfaelzische Hofcapelle Mainz - Germany, the Orchestra of the Opera in Košice - Slovakia, „Statna Opera” in Banska Bystřica in Slovakia, „Opera in a Castle” in Szczecin, „Kammeroper” in Cracow, Capella Cracoviensis, the philharmonies in Cracow, Łódź, Szczecin, Kielce, Opole, Kalisz, Olsztyn and Zielona Góra - Poland), and vocal festivals (i.e. „Viva il canto”, „Pomerania Nostra, „Hoffman’s Festival”) as a soloist in the oratorio and opera masterpieces as well as song recitals under such great conductors as Marek Pijarowski, Stanisław Krawczyński, Igor Dohovič, Zygmunt Rychert, Piotr Wajrak, René Gulikers, Hans Christoph Rademann, Peter Kubitch and Markus Leidenberger.
Continuing her post-graduate studies in Hochschule für Musik in Dresden she sang J. S. Bach’s „St. John’s Passion”, „The Weihnachtsoratorium”, W. A. Mozart’s „Requiem”, A. Vivaldi’s „Magnificat” and F. Mendelssohn’s „Eliah”. She was invited to record the soprano part of „The Weihnachtsoratorium” with Dresdener Barockorchester and Hans Christoph Rademann for the „Raum Klang” editor.
Katarzyna Jagiełło is an accomplished singer. In her repertoire she has over 50 oratorio parts, cycles of songs, and opera parts (W. A. Mozart: Susanna „Le nozze di Figaro”, Frau Nachtigall „Der Schauspieldirektor”, Zerlina „Don Giovanni”, Pamina, Papagena „Der Zauberflüte”, G. Verdi: Gilda „Rigoletto”, V. Bellini: Gulietta „I Capuleti e i Montacchi”, G. Puccini Musetta “La Boheme” . Her performance are very well received by both the critics and the audience. She is also a doctor in the Vocal Department of the K. Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław. SHe worked till 2012 at the Music School in Breslau.
Between 2010and 2014 she was a solist in Theater Ulm in Germany. Since 2014 she is a freelancer.
