Kristóf Baráti was born in 1979 in Budapest, from a family of musicians; his first violin teacher was his mother. 1981-1991 he lived, with his parents, in Venezuela; he gave his first concert with orchestra at the age of eight, there. After returning to Hungary, his masters at the preparatory class of the Academy of Music were Miklós Szenthelyi and Vilmos Tátrai; from 1998, he studied in Paris, with Eduard Wulfson. He won several international competitions and awards. In July 2004, he was invited to Modena, and the Catalan Puigcerda, where he held a workshop in the company of renowned artists. In 2004, he ha d a three-week concert tour in Australia, with great success. In 2005, he made his debut in Amsterdam at the renowned Concertgebouw concert hall; regularly performs with the National Philharmonic Orchestra, the Budapest Festival Orchestra, and the MAV Symphonic.
