Young Swiss lyrical Tenor, Sascha Kramer is fast establishing a colourful international career. Born in Zurich, he got singing and acting lessons and was trained as a soloist of the Zürcher Sängerknaben (Alphons von Aarburg). Taught by Jane Thorner-Mengedoht, he graduated with distinction at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künster in 2015.
Sascha Kramer already made his début at the Salzburger Festspiele in 2013, when he was part of the Young Singers Project (“Akademie Meistersinger”), singing the role of a Lehrbube (Meistersinger von Nürnberg), conducted by Daniele Gatti. In 2014 he performed in several Suisse theatres, singing the tenor part in Mozart’s opera “Il Re Pastore”. He is also a keen recitalist, who has already performed in the Tonhalle Zürich (UA: “Corona”, Matthew Aucoin) in 2014. In 2015 Sascha Kramer sang Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the ensemble Spira Mirabilis in different theatres in Italy (amongst others the famous Puccini theatre, Teatro del Giglio di Lucca). In October 2015 he made his solo debut at the illustrious Teatro alla Scala in Milano, singing a Soldat (Wozzeck), conducted by Ingo Metzmacher.
Since September 2015 Sascha Kramer is also part of the prestigious “Accademia Teatro alla Scala“, where he gets many valuable and inspirational musical suggestions by famous maestros, such as Renato Bruson, Luciana Serra or Luciana D’Intino.
His future projects (2016) include both singing the “Tierhändler” in “Rosenkavalier” (cond. Zubin Mehta) and “Monostatos” in a new production of the “Zauberflöte” (cond. Adam Fischer, dir. Peter Stein)
at the Teatro alla Scala.
Sascha Kramer is the 2015/2016 laureate of the “Prof. Armin Weltner Stiftung” as well as awardee of the “sic itur ad astra foundation”.
