If Kálmán Oláh’s Dulcimer Concerto is because the hammered dulcimer (cimbalom) and as well as because the strong presence of jazz is “double unusual” for the soloist Miklós Lukács - whom the work was written -, then what about Mihály Borbély’s Double Concerto? There is another rarely heard instrument, the Turkish horn, which the composer himself will play on. After all this exciting novelty and the cowboy tunes of Copland's Rodeo Suit, the series of specialties continues. You would hear a rhapsody for two pianos and orchestra: a British composer Addinsell’s Warsaw Concerto, which was originally written as a soundtrack of a war movie, and Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, which we could feel classical if it is inserted into this programme. The latter two compositions will be conducted by Laszló Kovács, who took also the soloist role, from the piano.
