The last work of a composer always has a special status, even if the attention awarded to it is purely of chronological reasons. The importance of this "swan song" might increase further if as the admirers as the analysts consider it actually as the worthy closing and summary of his oeuvre. Such composition is Mozart's Requiem, too, which the author could not finish. Mozart had to compose a piece for a funeral of the certain Count Walsegg but he could complete only the first movement entitled Requiem aeternam; contrary to the legend, the work was finally compiled in 1792 by not Mozart's nemesis, Antonio Salieri, but a young musician, Franz Xaver Süssmayr, commissioned by Mozart's widow. The piece, written for soprano, alto, tenor, bass, choir and orchestra is considered as the most important composition of Mozart. It is often heard as music for a festive occasion. Such festive occasions are All Saints Day and All Souls' Day, when the Christian world remembers the deceased relatives.
